...but I think my motivation is. I've never really bought into the whole S.A.D thing. But to to look round our house at the moment theres definately something up. A bigger bunch of clinically depressed, agoraphobic, borderline alcoholics you will not find outside of the Fall. Which is why I had to admire (read: 'be insanely jealous of') Issie and Charli's method of beating the winter blues which is to blow their student loans and fuck of to Paris. Irresponsible perhaps but you've got to admire their gall. I on the other hand plan to blow what remaining funds I have on Generic whiskey and mood cubes. If I make it to December without doing something remarkably stupid (like stumbling into uni and launching a massive diatribe of filth culminating in the words 'fuck the lot of you, I quit') it'll be no small wonder. The book is a silly idea. 'Alternative forms of communication' is vaguely interesting 'n all, but it sounds like the title of a lecture I would have skipped and gone to the dry dock instead of. Gawd bless the the course for letting you do anything in the world you want, but there is such a thing as too much choice. its like when someone asks you what your favourite film is and you suffer a complete mental blank and can only remember Police academy 7: Mission to Moscow *. As a result I've chosen myself right up shit creek.
Sensible responses to this; seek help, try a different project, reassess the learning agreement, sulk

On the plus side though; no dissertation. Which is just as well or I'd have bought a gun by now.
Making a vain attempt to seek out some outside-of-uni briefs in the hope they'll stimulate those old creative juices. I realise the above paragraph isn't exactly the best P R ( ...'mentally unstable', 'drinks too much', 'has little or no pride in own work' ) but hey, maybe thats what you're looking for in a graphic designer. Hell, from most of the biographies I've read it seems to be practically a requirement of the job. If you're reading this as a person seeking stuff done, don't be too put off by the above or indeed by the examples of my work on this site. Its a only a small selection of my stuff and the reason I'm asking for commissions is to expand my portfolio. Go on, give me something to do. I'm cheap (free if you ask nicely) and you might just help remind me what I loved about this subject in the first place.
* Yes I had to look on IMDB for that. And I'm so renting 'PS, your Cat is Dead' which I stumbled aross while looking. Who'd have thought Steve Gutenburg was so versatile?
