Its like 1984. (before CGI was any good)
You might have seen this clip floating about the internet of ITN's great new advertising gimmick/terrifying slide into a dystopian future. In case you haven't, they've basically gone and digitally inserted a load of ads for a new Will Ferrell movie into their Brit awards coverage - all subtle like. Sounds horrific and sinister until you actually watch the thing. I mean...seriously? Look at the logo on the clipboard about 30 seconds in? Looks about as natural and realistic as Roger Rabbit. What should be a shocking incursion into our freedoms is just shockingly badly done. Of course once the technology catches up, then we're all doomed...
Who knew that when mind-control finally came it'd look so rubbish-y ?
This is all explained a lot more eloquently: here.
Also can I take this opportunity to issue some kind of Bounty or Fatwah on Will Ferrell. Seriously, I will pay you.
